Your Invited

If have been sent this link by Bobby Williams it means you have been invited to participate in the Bridge, Masters Session. This is an invite only project. You were chosen because of the talent and leadership skills you have shown at previous workshops.

For eight weeks we will be working together to write and record a professional album with Matt Smokovich. During these workshops we will be recording and writing songs at the Capitol Theater. The goal is to create a 10-song album.

 Quality over Quantity

This project will be very different than other Bridge workshops. This album will be a professional production that can stand alongside mainstream releases. To make this happen we will be putting a lot of time and thought into the recording process and will only be using the strongest material.

Not everything we record will make the final album. Try your best to not take it personal if something you create doesn’t make the album.

The Process

  • Our group will be meeting at the Capitol Theater for eight Mondays 5pm to 7pm. (similar to how we have for past workshops)

  • Each week we will be writing songs in the practice rooms across Capitol Theater. You can bring in songs you already wrote or start working on new ones. You can decide who you want to collaborate with (we might give suggestions also). We are also bringing in experienced musicians to work on the project with us.

  • While some artist are writing songs, other artist will be recording finished songs in Matt’s studio, which will be in Bobby’s office. Before we schedule a studio session, we want to hear your song to make sure it is ready.

  • If you are not playing an instrument pick, whatever beats you want to write to from Youtube.

  • We will record you singing to the Youtube beat.

  • After you have recorded, Matt will remove the Youtube beat and make a new original beat for the song. This beat will have the same vibe and tempo as your Youtube beat, but will be something new.

What Happens After We Record?

  • We will be printing CDs and each artist will receive 10 copies.

  • The album will be uploaded to several streaming services

  • We will be holding a large album release party as part of The Bridge Summer Concert Series.

  • Matt licenses his music to be used in several commercials. We are going to include this album into his commercial licensing catalogue. If something that includes your instrument or vocals gets picked up, you will get a percentage of the proceeds.

  • We will be creating a professional music video for one of the songs on the album and promoting it. There is a possibility that we will do smaller scale music videos for other songs if we are able.

In order for this project to be successful you need to attend all eight session. If you miss more than two sessions, unless there is an arrangement beforehand, there is a chance you will be asked to leave the group.
