About The Bridge Music Project

The Bridge Music Project uses music, mentorship, and community as tools for youth empowerment. This work is done through songwriting workshops where youth work as teams to write, record, and perform original music that shares their stories. The Bridge serves 250 youth annually through workshops at music venues, schools, group homes, and maximum-security facilities.

About The Position

The Bridge Music Project seeks an Administrative Director to help recruit and retain community volunteers, promote the organization through various media, and fundraise, alongside other duties. The Administrative Director is a key role within the organization who will work closely with The Bridge’s Executive Director.

Responsibilities and duties include

Volunteer Recruitment and Retention (30% estimated time)

  • Recruit volunteers through our website, word of mouth, and community outreach

  • Meet and interview potential volunteers

  • Train volunteers on policies, procedures, and the ethics of the organization 

  • Coordinate all mentors for workshops, concerts, and other projects

  • Plan and facilitate four Volunteer appreciation events per year

Promotion (20% estimated time)

  • Help manage The Bridge’s social media via Instagram, Facebook, and other social media platforms

  • Create promotional videos for various projects

  • Photograph The Bridge’s various concerts and programs

  • Promote The Bridge’s concerts, upcoming workshops, and other projects through print media, poster distribution, etc.

  • Help maintain and update The Bridge’s website

Fundraising (20% estimated time)

  • Coordinate community reception

  • Procure donations (pizza, reception items, etc.)

  • Cultivate donors and Foundations through letters, meetings, and building relationships

  • Write sponsorship proposals

  • Secure sponsorships

Outreach (10% estimated time)

  • Represent The Bridge at community events

  • Network with potential sponsors and community collaborators

  • Help create The Bridge’s monthly newsletter

Data Tracking (10% estimated time)

  • Quantify and maintain data that The Bridge receives through surveys and applications

  • Upload all purchase receipts to QuickBooks

Donor Support (5% estimated time)

  • Update and maintain The Bridge’s donor database

  • Meet individually with donors to speak about the organization.

  • Engage donors throughout the year through thank you cards, personal updates, and small gifts

Board of Directors Support (5% estimated time)

  • Coordinate quarterly meetings and board retreats

Skills and Requirements

Required

  • An attitude of patience, acceptance, and empathy

  • Reliable communicator through phone, email, and in-person settings

  • Reliable transportation

  • The ability to occasionally work outside of normal business hours

  • Some administrative experience

Desired

  • Photography, filming, and video editing skills.  

  • Experience working with underserved youth

Compensation

This is a part-time position, 20-hour per week, paid at $25 hourly.
